Matthew Krishanu

Matthew Krishanu's paintings, drawings and etchings often depict solitary figures in domestic environments. He is interested in a space or moment remembered - figures in his work are often shown remembering or re-enacting a memorable incident. Narratives are left ambiguous, with objects that act like props - creating a character or setting a scene.

Matthew explores memory and narrative in his curatorial projects, including Mile End Ancestors, English Heritage (2009) and The Mausolem of Lost Objects, Iniva (2008).
